Thanks for the plug John. You're right - picking up the phone is always better. Better media relations, better *human* relations. And like all 'social media' (hate that term - is everything else therefore antisocial media?), Twitter is the most utter waste of time if you just want to use it to push out press releases, pitch a story or propogate corporate puff. Twitter is great though for the niche markets in which I work - for example, there's a big community of people there who love sharing information and thoughts on architecture, green building issues and sustainability. It's great for sharing stuff of value, crowdsourcing ideas, finding people who know things I don't know, building the beginnings of a relationship with them. Relationships which are then nurtured offline. Which reminds me, I think it's my turn to buy you lunch! ;-)

from Sarah G. I am wholly in agreement about the staggering hypocrisy so effortlessly employed by him and his supporters over the matter of his elevation to the upper house. It is breathtaking and yet he seeks to avoid any debate over the morality of this by dishing anybody who questions it as anti-catholic snobbery. Along with the work 'racist', the word 'snob' is becoming the best 'shut-up' in British politics.
