FACT: John Stonborough recently did 12 national TV, Radio and print interviews in one day (May 19 2009).
John specialises in media relations, providing an authoritative and discreet media management service to corporate and private clients world-wide. He is the MD of Stonborough Media Group, comprising John Stonborough & Co (est. 1988), and Air Supremacy Ltd, a media training company. He also broadcasts, lectures and writes about handling the hostile media and media regulation. He is known for observing "An interview is no time for an original thought." His clients range from Kelloggs, Absolut Vodka, Asda Wal-Mart, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, B&Q ,Barclays Bank, Phorm, Halfords, Savills and the world’s largest re-insurer Swiss Re. Until 2004 John was Media Adviser to the Speaker and House of Commons Commission (UK Parliament). His career began as a London policeman and then as a reporter for the Daily Mail, BBC Radio 4, Thames Television and Channel 4 TV. As a reporter and presenter for the BBC, CNN, and Sky News, she has handled some of the world’s biggest breaking news stories, including the conflicts in Bosnia and Iraq, and major political change in Europe, Africa and Asia. She has presented a variety of factual programmes on BBC 1, BBC 2, Radio 4 and Radio 5 Live, as well a series on the Arts for BBC World TV, and HARDtalk for BBC World/News 24.
Recently, Nici spent several months in Palestine, working as a media and communications consultant to the EU. She is currently involved in media training for the MoD, preparing senior military personnel to face tough questioning by the press, be it mid-operation in theatre, or in front of the “pack” at a press conference.
