John specialises in media relations, providing an authoritative and discreet media management service to corporate and private clients world-wide. He is the MD of Stonborough Media Group, comprising John Stonborough & Co (est. 1988), and Air Supremacy Ltd, a media training company. He also broadcasts, lectures and writes about handling the hostile media and media regulation. He is known for observing "An interview is no time for an original thought." His clients range from Barclays Bank, Kelloggs, Absolut Vodka, Asda Wal-Mart, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, B&Q , Phorm, Halfords, Savills and the world’s largest re-insurer Swiss Re. Until 2004 John was Media Adviser to the Speaker and House of Commons Commission (UK Parliament). His career began as a London policeman and then as a reporter for the Daily Mail, BBC Radio 4, Thames Television and Channel 4 TV.
