Jane Renton

Jane is steeped in business journalism. She was a graduate trainee at Reuters, was a staff writer for the Observer, where she specialised in defence and aerospace as well as a reporter on the BBC Money Programme for 5 years. She has been a regular contributor to the Sunday Times business section and other national and international newspapers. She is currently writing a book about Management for the Economist. Her skill at incisive well researched interviewing is legendary.

 

John Stonborough FCIPR

MD & Chief Trainer

John Stonborough specialises in media relations, providing an authoritative and discreet media management service to corporate and private clients world-wide. 

John is the MD of Stonborough Media Group, comprising John Stonborough & Co (est. 1988), and Air Supremacy Ltd, a media training company. He also broadcasts and lectures on handling the hostile media and media regulation.
His clients range from Absolut Vodka, Asda Wal-Mart, the UK Gambling Commission, and the world’s largest re-insurer Swiss Re.


Until 2004 John was Media Adviser to the Speaker and House of Commons Commission (UK Parliament). His career began as a London policeman and then as a reporter for the Daily Mail, BBC Radio 4, Thames Television and Channel 4 TV. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and an Associate of Project Associates, the respected reputation and communications consultancy.

Keith Betton

Keith Betton is a highly-successful communications specialist with over two decades of experience during which he is best known for having been the face of the travel industry to the media. As Head of Corporate Affairs at the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) he acted as the industry's main spokesman and was responsible for making the association one of the best-known bodies in the UK. Having started his career in marketing communications with Shell International and Shell UK he moved to British Telecom before joining the highly successful public relations agency, Biss Lancaster. He moved to ABTA in 1989 and headed up their communications team until 2006. He now runs his own media consultancy and is an advisor to John Stonborough Media Group.
